Just wanted to point out that you said they both come from Aramaic, however, Hebrew was around before Aramaic, but it adopted the Aramaic “block” script (which is what is used today) in about 500 BCE I think. The Samaritans, a religious group that broke off from Judaism a long time ago, still uses the original Paleo-Hebrew script from before 500 BCE.

YAY! studying Hebrew with you! That’s great because I want to study Arabic and Hebrew at the same time, because I think the similarities and contrasts of the two langagues will help me remember better! It’s like 2 varieties of 1 system.
Maha, you are a great teacher and I think it’s very helpful to watch your video’s in addition to my books. You have a very clear pronounciation.
