Shalom dunklaw: Yes, that is my point exactly.”Evil” is an abstract term and is a Greek concept. There are two Hebrew words that are commonly translated as evil. רע (ra) which means dysfunctional and רשע (rasha) which means lost.
Please also compare James 1:13.
Isn’t the word “Evil” more from Greek thought than hebrew?
Would “disfunctional” or “calamity” be a better word?
Compare Amos 3:6.
